CANCER SURGERY
All of the surgeons in our group have extensive experience with cancer surgery, a field known as Surgical Oncology. Our surgeons have all trained at highly respected University hospitals, including MD Anderson Cancer Center among them (Ranked #1 by US News and World Report as Americas Best Cancer Hospital for 2008). We are on the cutting-edge of the newest methods of cancer treatments. The philosophy of our group is to remove cancer with a minimally invasive approach while never jeopardizing the chance for cure. Some examples of this include Laparoscopic Colon Resection for colon cancer, Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy for breast cancer,and Radiofrequency Ablation of liver tumors. We strongly believe in providing coordinated total cancer care through cooperative relationships between the Surgical Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, and Radiation Oncologists. We are able to provide this coordinated care through our close relationships with Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Penrose Cancer Center, and Pikes Peak Cancer Specialists. Penrose Cancer Center is the only cancer treatment facility in southern Colorado to have the new CyberKnife technology as a minimally invasive method of cancer treatment.
