Tashinga Musonza, MD is a general surgeon who specializes in trauma, acute care and minimally invasive surgery. He strives to provide high quality care supported by the latest advancements in medicine and surgical technology. Dr. Musonza treats a myriad of conditions ranging from benign thyroid and parathyroid disease, reflux, gallbladder, spleen, stomach, pancreas, small bowel and large bowel disease. In addition he does minimally invasive hernia repair using laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Dr. Musonza was born and raised in Zimbabwe. He graduated from Lander University, Greenwood, South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Biology Minor. He worked as an ICU nurse in Pinehurst, North Carolina. He then earned his medical training at Mayo Clinic Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Musonza completed his general surgery training at the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas. He was decorated chief resident of the year by the Surgical Faculty and in addition recognized for excellence, dedication and clinical acumen by the Department of Emergency Medicine at Baylor.

Dr. Musonza has published more than 20 peer reviewed journal articles, abstracts and book chapters in the field of trauma and general surgery. He enjoys writing poetry and aphorisms, gardening and playing soccer.
